These crochet sloth hats were designed for The Big Knit – a campaign with innocent drinks and Age UK raising money for the charity by Knitting or crocheting little hats – that they donate 25p to the charity.
Today it’s the time for the sloth. It just had to be done. The blue one loves sloths. Has done for like forever now, and the chance to make a mini sloth hat was just too much.

I loved making this little sloth, designed as s brooch for Simply Crochet magazine last year.

So surely a bottle hat was the next obvious choice? Well to me it was!

Eyes – make 2
Using a darker brown, chain 4, make 1 sc in the 2nd chain from the hook, 2 sc in the end chain, then turn and work back along the other side of the chain, making 1 sc in the middle chain, before SS to join. Fasten off.

To make up
Sew the beige face onto the hat, then sew the 2 eyes, facing slightly downwards. Use your ends to do the sewing – it’ll save you time.

Now, using black, make a french knot to be the eye towards the top of the brown, then sew a nose and smile as desired.
Voila…… Slowly the sloth mini hat.
