The story behind the Crochet Baby Sweater
I was gifted some yarn from Cygnet to have a little play with. You may or may not know I’ve turned my hand to garment design.
>>>Check out my Bobble stitch cardigan pattern here
A couple of years ago I made myself a cardigan – that I’ve finally written up and is out with testers…… but when the lovely people over at Cygnet yarns sent me some yarn to play with……..a cute little kids jumper popped into my head.
The yarn I was sent was Cygnet Pure Baby Prints.
I’d already made a great chevron blanket using their Pure Baby range, and this yarn is amazingly soft and a complete delight to work with.

Then I had a go at Colour pooling with yarn, and it worked a treat in Granny Stripe pattern
So onto a little jumper…….
And I do mean little. This is sized from 3 months up to about 5 years and is pretty quick to make.

Yarn
As I’ve said before – this was made and tested using Cygnet Pure Baby Prints
It gives a weight is similar to a normal DK – so something to bear in mind should you wish to substitute the yarn (Just make sure your tension is the same).

Tension/ Gauge
This is important to make sure you end up with the right size jumper.
16 sts and 10 rounds to measure 10 x 10cm (4 x 4in) with a 4mm hook or size needed to obtain tension.

Here is the fiinshed jumper.
