Here you can find out how to do a 3DC Cluster crochet stitch or a 3DCcl.
The 3DC Cluster stitch is a great stitch, which isn’t actually that different to the double crochet stitch, but you combine 3 DC together, but not like a 3DCtog.
They are a great way to add some interest to your crochet, without making it really complicated, and are perfect for circles as they can make a circle bigger, but not actually increase the number of stitches.
What can you use the 3DC Cluster stitch for?
I use the 3DC Cluster stitch as round 4 of my starburst patterns:
How to make a starburst granny square
How to crochet a starburst Hexagon
Easy Starburst Blanket Pattern
Starburst Crochet Cushion Pattern
Notes
With this stitch, the first 3DCcl cluster in my patterns is actually a ch3 followed by a 2DCcl.
This is because you need to get the height of the stitches first, which you do by chaining, then a 2DCcl , as if you did a 3DC cluster stitch there would be 4 stitches not 3, making it look odd.
