It’s time to finally show you the blanket that I made at the end of last year. I’d made lots and lots of circles and changed them into squares.
The final layout was decided pretty quickly – before I could change my mind!

I like things ordered – a rainbow needs to be in rainbow order, so just making the squares has been a bit of a mental battle for me – but I’m super happy with the results.

The options for how to do this were endless – so me and the pink one just went for it in the end. We laid them all out on the rug, can you see the diagnol lines of rainbow? (look at round 3)
We made piles of each horizontal line and bagged them up – labelled with what row they were, ready for me to crochet them together. I’ve always sewn things before – but this time I decided crochet was the answer – a simple single crochet together.
Luckily it’s winter, so the perfect timing for sitting under a blanket while making it!

Then for the border choice – now this was pretty tough too to decide. I thought about doing one round of every colour in the blanket, starting with pink.

(Can you see my sunset square again!)

3 rows decided……… then 4.

But with the help of my Instagram followers – I stopped at round 5! Probably at the right point too!
So……. after months of waiting – do you want to see it?

I love this blanket, so worth the effort, and all of the end sewing in! But’s so bright and cheery, and brings a huge smile to my face when I see it. As predicted, I’m not the only one in my house that loves this blanket, the pink one has taken a shine to it, and takes it to bed with her quite a lot!

And a few close ups for good measure!

So what do you think? Do you like my new blanket?
