Here you can find the links for how to make a Crochet blanket using squares, and gradually increasing your crochet knowledge. This blanket was released as part of a crochet along (CAL) in 2019.
The idea of the Geo Boho Blanket was born from my love of making lots of squares and joining them to make a blanket. Add to that the simplicity of having squares and circles together, and I knew pretty quickly what the design could be.
The idea of the CAL, was to learn a new square on a weekly basis, gradually increasing the techniques learnt so it would be perfect for a beginner crocheter to learn week by week.
You’ll make 8 of each of the squares – giving you lots of practice of the new techniques, and end up with a large crochet blanket / Afghan made of squares over the 8 weeks.

The Geo Boho blanket, made with Boho Spirit Yarn from Cygnet Yarns – a great UK company, who make some amazing yarns that I was lucky enough to play with.

The postman came, and delivered the most amazingly colourful bag of yarn.
But I needed another colour for the design to work, so Cygnet worked their magic, and a new “pure” colour was made.
Now this is the sneaky bit, I got to play with the beautiful squishy white yarn a good few months before anyone else – EVER!
But I was completely sworn to secrecy.

For me, it was time to get cracking though.
I started with the Azalea – that bright pink was just singing to me – that I knew exactly what design they were going to be!
Then Amber
I adore Front post Treble crochet – can you tell?
Then Indigo.
Quickly followed by Peacock.
Then sticking with circles- Misty.
Finally – Quartz.
I’d been making the squares pretty much the whole of June, July and August, a couple here and there.
Very therapeutic, and lovely to just pick them up when I could.
Joining them together was a momentous moment.
Then the border.
So, a little run down of the blanket, how it came about, and now the fun bit!
