Hi, Thanks or for stopping by. Here you can get the free crochet pattern for the Chevron Baby blanket. It’s a bold striking design, certain to catch peoples eyes when on the pram / Stroller.
This is the perfect pattern for someone who can do a US double crochet (Granny square), and wants to expand their knowledge just a little bit, but get a stunning effect.
It was so methodical to make, once you get in the “groove” this baby blanket works up in no time.

I was lucky enough to be gifted some Cygnet Pure Baby Anti Piling Yarn to play with.
This is delightful premium Acrylic and perfect for baby blankets as it’s so so soft – and washable – machine washable! (We all know a baby blanket needs to be washable don’t we!)
This yarn is lovely! Thats it – I could really stop here with my explanation and description .
The colours I was sent were beautiful – proper “baby colours”.
Ocean, one of my favourite colours, I love a good blue/green and this yarn completely ticks all the boxes.
The Rose think a proper dusky pink, the depth of this is lovely.
The Cream is a creamy cream, sometimes yarn they can be yellowy, beige cream, but this is a creamy cream. (For a beige cream look at biscuit in this yarn)
The Pastel blue – a great baby blue colour, so light and airy.
Premium Acrylic Baby Blanket Yarn
And this really is a premium Acrylic. It feels amazing, and was an absolute pleasure to work with.
Not “Squeaky”, and the shine on this yarn was lovely.
One of my bugbears of any yarn, is that you make your great creation, and in no time at all it starts to felt/ pile (the bobbles that appear after a few wears).
This yarn does exactly what it says on the label – and it is Anti-pilling.
Sold in 100g balls, these are a huge 245m per ball, so even thought slightly more that a standard DK this is definitely worth the extra pennies.
Colour wise, there are currently 12 to choose from, “standard” baby colours, in pinks, blues, yellows.
I’d love a Darker Grey, and a Mustard, as I see myself making things for me in this yarn – it’s too good just for babies!
Basically – this has now turned into my new favourite yarn!
I love it so much, I’ve already ordered 15 balls of Biscuit from to make myself a cardigan (new design coming soon), and have a play with a blanket idea I’ve had!
So – do you want to see what I made this time?
It had to be a bold bright Chevron pattern!
It you want save this one for later, please pin the photo below.

Where its there as a handy PDF.
One thing I always try when being a designer is to fully use the yarn, by this I mean – there is no point buying a whole ball of yarn when you only need 3 more rows – so sizing was cruical for this project.
4 balls pretty much exactly – as this is all you should have left over!
That was a yarn chicken win!
This blanket is the perfect pram/ stroller blanket size – so any colour combo could be used.
I’ll just leave you with more pictures, as you can’t really beat some Blanket Spam
