Hi, Thanks for joining me – here you can get the Free Heart cushion pattern.
I designed this as it was Valentines day the following week, so what better excuse to make something heart based.
It didn’t take me long to decide what either!
I’m a complete sucker for anything that is quick and simple, and this only took about an hour per side – after the maths of course.

Yarn for the Heart Cushion
Cue a dive down my ever growing yarn stash to retrieve these beauties!
As I said, quick, and simple, is the name of the game for this cushion. Designed so you aren’t left over with loads of yarn either…. there is nothing worse than that don’t you think?
Of course, C2C as well – am I getting a little predictable?
>>>If you need to learn how to do this technique – check out my video here. It’s for beginners – so a little slow for an experienced crocheter, but perfect if you haven’t tried it before.
Right, so onto the Heart cushion C2C design.

Heart cushion pattern
Needle for sewing in ends (I can’t recommend these enough especially for super chunky yarn)
40cm Cushion pad
The maths part. I had no idea how this cushion was going to work up size wise – I’ve never done C2C in such a chunky yarn before, but just look at that texture!
So I started the cushion, then was able to measure what each square measured – then a bit of division and multiplication, and I knew that a 40cm square (The size of the cushion pad) was going to need 12 blocks each side.
Now I could actually design the heart shape.
So here is the chart.
This is a perfect beginners graph to follow.
You only have 3 balls attached at once, grey in each corner, and the pink in the middle,
You only have to ‘carry’ the yarn once too – when you get to the top corner, bringing the grey down to meet the heart by 2 squares.
I’m loving the hot pink, but the pink one decided she wanted the back different to the front, so we settled on a different colour pink.
So the back and the front, you could of course make 2 the same!
I placed them on top of each over crocheted it together using the left over platinum (grey) yarn, using slip stitch for 3 sides, then I added the cushion pad, and carried out around the remaining side.
I was tempted to join with a pink yarn, but there wasn’t enough left – remember what I said about not having loads of yarn left over……. well there really isn’t that much left!
Here we are, one “Love it” Heart Cushion.
