Sometimes an idea just pops into your head and you have to run with it – anyone else find this? So todays post a donut (doughnut) cushion crochet pattern.
I’d wanted to make a huge doughnut cushion for a long time after seeing one in Simply Crochet a long time ago. The one in the magazine, was a ring doughnut, but in the UK we tend to have solid doughnuts filled with jam! They are an absolute bargain at 50p for 5 usually too, so no good for the waistline!

These ones are from good old Krispy Kreme, a brand relatively new to the UK, but the supermarkets now have huge cabinets just full of these delicious treats.
I casually mentioned my thoughts of a very large crocheted doughnut to the pink one a few months ago who was up for the idea – well who wouldn’t be? An iced doughnut floor cushion in a colour of your choosing.
Well you’ve probably gathered that pink was going to be involved. And boy what a pink it is! I’ve gone to my go-to brand of Cygnet for the yarn for this project.
Back to the floor cushion, in my head, I hd a doughnut pretty much identical to the one in the picture at the top – a Strawberries and cream Krispy Creme, already to go in The Pink Ones newly decorated bedroom.
Lets just say, The pink one has had some artistic control over this particular crocheted doughnut…… and I LOVE it!
It’s huge, a perfect size for sitting on, or putting your feet on!
